The Hope Center has been offering tailoring training to disabled and disadvantaged people for over twelve years. In recent years training has also been provided to upgrade the skills of handicraft artisans. Teachers have come to the Center to pass on skills in hand woven basket making. The Department of Science and Technology has assisted the weavers from the A Luoi district in their weaving skills. Hue Help a UK based charity has provided English speaking volunteers to teach the admin staff business English to enable them to market the handicraft products to the international markets. For the period of 2011 to 2014 the Hope Center has consolidated its training requirements into one three year plan and is now actively seeking sponsors for the entire or selected parts of this training intervention. The Hope Center will continue to offer its excellent tailoring courses. Added to this will be more formal handicraft production courses provided during the week. Saturdays will see the introduction of business skills courses covering a diverse set of topics from marketing, sales and entry level book-keeping.
